  • The coast of the Reykjanes peninsula offers excellent opportunities to witness how the volcanoes of Iceland have affected the landscape and Icelandic people in historical times.

    This is a great tour where you get to witness the old times mixed with magnificent landscape. We will drive with you the south coast between Grindavik and Hveragerdi where frequent eruptions and new land formations have been happening over the last 1000 years.
    We will explore the new lava formation from the last eruption as well as older lava formations and see how the Icelanders used to live inside the lava almost 200 years ago in really hard weather conditions. We will also hike through areas with bubbling hot springs and tell you stories of the trolls, elves, ghosts, witchcraft priest and superstitions that are unique for that part of Iceland.

    Note,This is also a great tour on your arrival day or on your last day as we can end the tour or start the tour from the airport and if you like it is no problem to add a visit to the famous blue lagoon into this tour.

Volcano Overnight Tour / Útileguferð

  • Explore the second biggest volcanic area of Iceland with local guides, camping on a remote location with your own natural bathing spot next to your tent and use the geothermal power to cook dinner. This is the true Icelandic experience.

    Day 1
    The tour starts in the afternoon by preparing at our office and making sure we have everything we need for the next 24 hours. Then we will load the super jeep and drive up to the mountain where we will be crossing several rivers and testing the jeeps in challenging landscape until we reach one of our remote camping spots, where we will set up our tents and enjoy the ultimate summer night. In the evening you will have the option to bath in a secret bathing spot next to your tent and while we bath we will cook a complete earth cooked dinner in the Hotsprings.
     
    Day 2
    We will start with a good hotspring cooked breakfast before starting a great hike. We have quite a good variety of hikes we can do on the second day depending on how you are feeling and how challenging hike you are looking for. We can hike up to high peaks with a great view, explosion craters or take an easier hike with loads of hot springs and several bathing options. We know enough tracks to hike with you on that area for more than 6 days around our camping spot, mostly on tracks that are less known. Then on the second part of the day we will pack up the tents and load the jeep and drive to our office in Hveragerdi

    Dagur 1
    Ferðin hefst síðdegis í aðstöðu okkar í Hveragerði þar sem við græjum okkur fyrir ferðina og setjum farangurinn  í sérútbúinn jeppa og gætum þess að við höfum allt sem á þarf að halda fyrir ferðina.
    Síðan er haldið til fjalla og jeppast aðeins á leiðinni. Er á áfanga stað er komið eru tjöldin sett upp. Að því loknu gefst kostur á að slaka á í náttúrulegri laug á meðan kvöldmaturinn eldast í rólegheitunum í hver rétt hjá og verður þriggja rétta kvöldmatur á boðstólum.

    Hefst með staðgóðum hveraelduðum morgunverði.
    Við höfum marga göngumöguleika þennan daginn hvort er fólk vill ganga á krefjandi tinda ,gíga eða fara í heldur léttari göngu þar sem meiri áhersla er lögð í að kanna lítt könnuð hverasvæði. Að göngudegi loknum er hægt að láta líða úr sér í náttúrulauginni áður en við göngum frá búnaði okkar og höldum til byggða.
