Snow Shoeing & Volcano Bathing / Snjóskó ævintýri

• Experience the true winter land in Iceland by traveling with us over lave fields and the snowy depths of the Hengill volcano area with snow shoes strapped to our boots. We will start the tour by driving up towards the mountains where we start the hike. As we snow-shoe further into the area we will start to see more and more hotsprings and amazing views. The guide will share with you the history of the hotsprings and the Hengill volcanic area which is the second biggest volcanic area in Iceland. We will stop at one of the hotsprings and boil some eggs and make hot chocolate using the power of the earth. After the hot refreshment we will take a relaxing bath in a natural hot river with hotsprings all around that melt their way through the snow and ice. After the bath we will hike down from the mountain to the Iceland Activities station where we will end the tour.

Snowshoeing Northern lights tour/
Norðurljósa Snjóskóævintýri

• Join us for an adventure, where we will snow shoe through deep snow and witness the solitude and quietness that the mountain has to offer as we search in the sky for the northern lights.

  We will pick a location depending on the Northern light forecast and snow level. The aim of the tour is to snowshoe to a unique and remote location whit beautiful landscape around us where we will enjoy the evening and have a hot soup to warm us up. Sometimes we hike to old volcanic craters and hot springs, sometimes to high peaks with great view, sometimes we hike over old lava fields and sometimes we hike close to big lakes where you will see the Northern lights mirror on the lake. Your local guide will explain the history of the area we choose as well as the explaining the Northern lights.

  Please note: The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore cannot be guaranteed. But we will let you know few days before how the forecast looks and then only go if we think there is a good chance. We will always try our best to take you out of the more touristy areas and into beautiful Icelandic landscape where you can enjoy the lights dancing in the sky. If the weather is bad or the Northern lights forecast is not ideal, we will let you know 24 hours before departure how it looks and if the trip is cancelled you will get 100% refund.

Superjeep & Hike in Thorsmork / Jeppaferð til Þórsmarkar

• The Tour starts from our base camp in Hveragerdi.

  Join us in a fun super jeep tour on the Southern lowlands of Iceland on modified jeep to Thorsmork (the forest of Thor) which is an incredibly beautiful mountain ridge situated between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull & the famous Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted in the year 2010, stopping all the flights in Europe.

         On our way into Thorsmork we drive over deep and powerful glacier rivers and over challenging and rough terrain, testing the capability of the jeep. We will stop and explore a beautiful canyon with a hidden waterfall in the end, we will take a look at Gígjökull glacier that almost all disappeared in the 2010 eruption and you will be able to see and witness the power of the eruption.

  In Þórsmörk you will be able to choose the difficulty level of the hike/day.As Þórsmörk offers several hiking options, we can go for an easy and relaxing shight seeing with short hikes, exploring the lower parts of the area. We can go for a moderate difficult hike where we will hike higher up in the mountains where we will see magnificent view and landscape or we can go for the most challenging option where we will hike up to Fimmvörðuháls where you will meet the lava that ran in the year 2010, in the famous Eyjafjallajökull eruption. 

  On our way back we will  stop at the famous waterfall. Seljarlandsfoss, where you will be able to go behind the waterfall and explore while we will pump air back into the tires of the jeep. If you have already explored Seljarlandsfoss, then we will stop at another location.

  Þorsmork is known for its beauty, vibrantly colored valleys and abundance of huge surrounding mountains and glaciers that will for sure deliver an unforgettable experience.

• This tour offers a great experience, traveling over fun and challenging landscape on a modified jeep, driving over rivers and streams and explore a 10 km long black sandy beach. Then we will end the tour in our town Hveragerdi, known for hotsprings and green houses, where we will go for a fun hike with a true local guide, who grew up on the area and will be able to point out interesting facts and the geological history and how the people have been living around the hotpsrings for the past 100 year. We will stop at a local green house where we have been growing bananas for the past 60 years, we will also stop at a new hotspring area that came to live in a big earthquake in the year 2008 where you will witness hotsprings coming out of of the ground all around us. Then we will end the tour by cooking a complete 3 course lunch or dinner in a hotspring and eat under the open sky.

• Í þessari ferð munum við ferðast um stórbrotna náttúru Hengilsvæðisins á sérútbúnum jeppa, upp brattar brekkur, yfir ár og eftir skemmtilegum slóðum á Hengilsvæðinu sem er eitt stærsta háhitasvæði Íslands. Svæðið hefur mikinn fjölbreytileika að geyma þar sem má finna græna dali ,fallegar klettamyndanir og hraun, óviðjafnalegt útsýni og mikið magn hverasvæða.

• Description

  North Atlantic adventure, surf on Iceland´s south coast, a 10 km long strip with great waves and black sandy beaches, a fantastic chilling experience, battle the waves and watch the curious seals swim by.
  We offer beginners and more experienced surfers a chance to surf on Icelandic coast, by teaching and providing all equipment needed to have a great day. You will be surfing with an Icelandic local surfer and have an option to surf on Icelandic handmade surfboards, first surfboards that have ever been made in Iceland.

  5mm wetsuit, gloves and boots, surf board, Icelandic surf guide/teacher, transfer from Hveragerði to the beach and the fee to the swimmingpool so we can warm up after a good day in the ocean.
