Bathing in a secret hotspring  with no one else around you, is truly an amazing experience. One of many Iceland Activities family secrets. This tour suits everyone and we have different options for hiking and bathing for people of different ability level. We will travel on a super jeep up to the starting point on various places in Iceland where we will start the hike. You will be hiking with a beautiful landscape all around you and a great number of hotsprings. We will share with you our extended local knowledge and experience of the area, we will show you how we have been using the hotsprings for the past 30 years in our family tours to cook food as well as offering you a chance to bath in a secret hotspring where you can enjoy the peaceful volcanic surroundings that will for sure offer memorable experience.

We will use a hotpsring next to our bathing spot where we will cook together a delicious tomato soup and Icelandic egg steam cooked in the hotsprings.

Experience the true winter land in Iceland by traveling with us over lave fields and the snowy depths of the Hengill volcano area with snow shoes strapped to our boots. We will start the tour by driving up towards the mountains where we start the hike. As we snow-shoe further into the area we will start to see more and more hotsprings and amazing views. The guide will share with you the history of the hotsprings and the Hengill volcanic area which is the second biggest volcanic area in Iceland. We will stop at one of the hotsprings and boil some eggs and make hot chocolate using the power of the earth. After the hot refreshment we will take a relaxing bath in a natural hot river with hotsprings all around that melt their way through the snow and ice. After the bath we will hike down from the mountain to the Iceland Activities station where we will end the tour.

If there is not enough snow on the area on the day of the tour, then we will llet you know and change the tour into the Hotspring winter circle.

A great hike where where you will witness unique Icelandic nature with natural steam coming out of every hole and bubbling water and magnificent landscape all around you. After strolling through the beautiful hills in the Hengill volcanic area, you will get a chance to take a dip into a geothermal river located in Reykjadalur, Smokay valley, while enjoying the snowy mountain view and perhaps take a cold plunge into the snow to cool down from the hot bath. After the bath we will taste a hotspring cooked egg before heading down from the mountain.

A fun and an exciting hike tour. We start in the afternoon when it is still day light by hiking along gorgeous hotspring areas with geothermal water rising from the ground.

We stop to boil eggs in one of the many hotsprings & warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. Then as the darkness is coming over we take a dip into a geothermal river and enjoy the sounds of nature in peaceful mountain environment and enjoy an Icelandic dark winter night while looking at stars and if we are lucky we might get the northern lights dancing overhead. 

After the bath we turn on our headlights and hike back in the dark and the guide will tell you Icelandic stories about the trolls and the elves that live in the area. It is a great experience that creates memories that are hard to forget.
